Find a Profitable Niche and Create Your Own Products

By: Yvonne A Jones Category: Branding, Business - Home-Based Business

One of the challenges beginner online marketers and even many seasoned online marketers have is to develop a product so they can monetize their website in a short time.  Of course, there are many other methods, including Affiliate Marketing, that allow you to provide a service to your website visitors.  However, experienced marketers agree that your goal should be to create your own product as soon as possible.

It took me several months to understand the value of PLR products and since then I’ve come to appreciate their role in my online business.    Some people will download a PLR e-book and just add their name to it and offer it to their visitors.  Others use it as a supplementary resource.  But there is more…

One of the most valuable resource for PLR products I’ve found is at This is a monthly membership site which offers you tutorials and training in finding a niche that’s right for you, but also teaches you how to release a new product every 10 days using PLR products-in-the-rough.  Paul Evans has announced that when membership reopens on Tuesday, June 8 for 48 hours only, he will be adding features to enhance your experience in finding the perfect niche for you, identifying which markets are profitable, and give you step-by-step guidance in creating your own product to build your brand and increase your credibility and income.  As a member you will also receive training from expert marketers like Jimmy D. Brown, Ryan Diess and Jim Edwards.  Visit today for more information.

I’m an advocate of using PLR. Up to this point, I’ve been doing all of my own writing but I know lots and lots of people who hate writing or they just don’t know how to begin. PLR will give them an excellent starting point. PLR articles can be great to view as basic “foundational” articles that can be tweaked and changed up a bit here and there to get a really good end result.

    Let’s Write On!

  2. Melanie, I’ve come to really like PLR and sometimes I wonder if I’m defeating the purpose as I re-write so much, but I feel that if I’m going to put my name on the Product, it has to sound like the way I talk. But good PLRs are really worth using. Thanks, Melanie.

I agree with you, Yvonne! There’s a lot of really less-than-stellar PLR out there and that’s why, in my opinion, people look down on it sometimes and won’t even consider it as an option. I always refer people to Nicole Dean’s site, “EasyPLR”, if they want to check out some really “good” PLR.

    Blog On!

  4. I purchase from her from time to time and trust anyone she recommends, Melanie. In fact, I’m an affiliate of hers as well. It actually was through Nicole that I learned about and really like their products.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to make more money with my blogs for a while now. I’ve tried Adsense, and it just sucks. I’ve tried a few affiliate networks, but haven’t had much luck. I was thinking about trying the clickbank wealth formula that I was reading about on the warriors forum. Here is a link to it. I’ve read some good reviews about it. Have you tried it? Does it really work? Any idea if it is suitable for a newb or not?

  7. Hi Garry, Thank you for stopping by and leaving your questions. I’m sorry that you’ve not had much success monetizing your blogs and I can understand your frustration because I was online for a year before I started making any money. I almost gave up. I cannot comment on the Clickbank Wealth Formula as I’ve never even looked at it. I’ll be happy to make some suggestions of what has worked for me if you email me directly at

Garry might consider participating in the next 30-day blogging challenge coming up this fall — Or look into the “31 days to build a better blog” program that Darren Rowse of Problogger dot net offers. Sounds like he could definitely benefit from a boost in traffic.

  9. Melanie, You are so amazing! I hope Garry reads your comments. I am just about to reply to him with a couple of suggestions after taking a look at his blog yesterday. He definitely needs traffic, and one of the questions I have for him and anyone else who has a challenge getting people to their blogs is what methods they’re using to promote their blog. My visitors were very low during my first year online but would spike each time I wrote an article and sent people back to my website. One recommendation is to write articles and direct readers back to the blog using the resource box. The blog challenge was without question a very effective way to increase traffic and thank you for mentioning the program offered by Darren Rowse. I will check that out myself as well.

I think we answered Garry very well right here so I’ll suggest that he comes back and read these two comments. Thank you, Melanie.

You’re welcome, Yvonne! And your suggestion to write articles and direct people back to your blog is excellent.

I’ve also had great luck with promoting my blog posts by having all my networks integrated through a free service called Ping dot fm. With one click, I can send an update to about 15 networks at once. It’s a real time saver and a great promotional tool!

By the way, how do you manage to handle posting in this blog? Do you have staff to do this for you or you just do it all alone? It would be kind of you if you could tell me. Thanks a lot.

  16. Hi there. Great question! With the exception of occasional guest bloggers, I submit all the posts for this blog. It’s challenging, but if you write about things you are familiar with or are in the process of learning, it makes it easier to come up with valuable content.
