Link Building Strategies – Not All Article Directories Provide Backlinks to your Blog

January 19, 2011 By: Yvonne A Jones Category: online business, seo

Backlinks are important to your blog in order to increase organic search results. Organic search results are listings on search engine results pages, such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing that appear because of their relevance to the keywords being searched, instead of through paid methods, like pay-per-click advertising.

One of the most effective link building strategies is to submit articles to article directories.  When you write articles with between 400 – 700 words you have the opportunity to submit these articles to various article directories, keeping in mind their individual submission requirements.

It’s reasonable to expect that before long you will get quality inbound links from these article directories.  However, it’s important to note that not all article directories provide backlinks.

Should you still submit your articles to them?  I would say, why not?  Even though you many not receive quality inbound links from these directories you can still reach a large audience with your articles and increase your online business success.

I intended to write a detailed post about this, but Lisa Angelettie wrote a post that outlines which directories have a “No Follow” policy and I found it very helpful.  I hope you will too.  Here is the link to Lisa’s post: http://lisaangelettieblog.com/high-ranked-article-directories/

What’s your feeling on submitting articles to directories with a “No Follow” policy?
