Focused Action Required for Online Business Success

One acronym for F.O.C.U.S is Follow One Course Until Successful.  Focused action can also mean turning your back on the audience so you can guide the orchestra to produce beautiful, melodious, well-coordinated music.

Last week I attended the 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony of one of my young friends and a segment of the ceremony was a musical piece by the 8th grade band…and what a beautiful selection it was! As I watched and listened my eyes were captured by the movements of the teacher who was conducting the band.

Her back was to the audience and her attention was focused on guiding, by the movement of her hands and the baton, the orchestra so that each member of the band knew exactly when to come in, and when to play louder or softer. This ensured that we, the audience, derived the best enjoyment from the musical piece.

Turn back the hands of timeI just wish I had more time!” “Where did the time go? I just wish I had more hours in the day.” Have you ever made any of those statements or asked that question? In reality you're saying that you were given less hours than others, but we know that isn't true. Time is the great equalizer.

W all have the same 24 hours in each day. What makes the difference is how we use those 24 hours. You probably could think of quite a number of persons who seemed to have accomplished a great deal in their lifetime, and often in a short time. They did this within the framework of 24-hour days.

Components of Marketing Plan for Small Business and Entrepreneurs

"A Marketing Plan"As I did further research on putting together a Marketing Plan for my business I found a great deal of information on the topic.  A point that was immediately evident is that whether you are marketing a service or product one of your biggest challenges is to determine how you will reach your customers.

One publication recommended doing a study of what your competition is doing since they would already have done the research to find out what works best.

This reminds me of a study I did several years ago for a business project, which showed that two of the largest national hardware stores in the United States are often built in close proximity to each other.  The major chain built a store in an area only after careful study of the demographics, etc.  The other chain took advantage of that research and built a store in the area as well.
